Tenacity & perseverance in leadership by Travis Waits
Starting strong is one thing, staying the course, quite another. When your metal gets tested, are you able to hold to your vision, and remain resilient in order to fulfill your magnitude of mission as a leader? Challenge produces growth, growth produces passion, passion produces influence.
For leaders who desire to make an impact, they will experience bumps along the road to fulfilling their vision. Our ability to bounce can be something that sets you apart from others in the current landscape of leadership. If you choose to be a leader, you are also making a choice to step into the gap, and into the line of fire.
Not everyone will appreciate you, and frankly some will set out to undermine you. Your response will demonstrate your authenticity, character, and internal conviction, not just your ethics.
Travis Waits discusses perseverance as a leader, and why that is such a rare character quality today.
I once wrote myself a job description as the Leader of my company. Number one was to ‘keep the faith, when the rest have lost it’. Having written that down for myself was a great help as we grew into the successful company that I sold to employees some years later. Thanks for the reminder Travis
Great reminder Joseph. I know I replied previously when you first posted your comment, but just wanted to say what an encouraging reminder it is to “keep the faith, when the rest have lost it’…and exactly what I needed to hear (again) today.
Enjoy your week!
