Wholeness Ministry for leaders
Wholeness is a pastoral ministry that focuses on assisting couples and fellow leaders to have healthy relationships with God, themselves, and others. Too often leaders, especially those serving in the helping professions (such as counselors, psychologists, therapists, life coaches or in ministry as pastor‘s, etc…) who choose not to seek help because of a variety of reasons. These are tough professions to ‘stay human’ in, and part of the occupational hazard is that the rules that apply to your clients, do not get to apply to you as a leader.

Travis & Jaime Waits train leadership couples to be more authentic, empowering their professional impact as leaders!
We are intimately familiar with the need for helping professionals to have a safe, confidential, and respectful environment in which they can ‘air out’ their concerns, challenges, hurts, frustrations, and failures. Without worry of exposure, or retaliation by their licensing, ethical, or oversight board. Without such a redemptive relationship of trust, leaders slowly callous themselves to maintaining a compartmentalized life — secrets, regrets, guilt, shame, addictions, you name it….
As pastoral leaders in ministry, we have personally walked this journey of brokenness, forgiveness, vulnerability, restoration, reconciliation, and hope. The helping profession generally as a community turns on its own, and does not apply the same principles of grace to colleagues as they do to their clients. The helping community at large is missing the boat in this area. Too often “fallen” pastors, leaders, or helping professionals who have made ethical missteps are shuffled off the sidelines (and out of the building…) quietly, or with much public disgrace. Not only does this reinforce the stereotypes that we ‘shoot our wounded’, but it further negatively damages the spouse, family, and community. When restoration is redefined, incorrectly, to anything other than ‘returning to a right relationship’, using the same abilities, skills, and calling you have been trained in (and passionate about…), then all involved suffer and miss out on the blessings that occur through grace and transformation.
Healing and freedom are possible. It takes an enormous amount of courage for leaders to ask for help, especially those within the helping professions who are ‘helping others’ as their vocation. Most do not ‘come clean’ on their own, but are found out as their lies come crashing in on them. Reality, is the greatest denial lifter there is. As pastor Rick Warren states, “God whispers to us in our pleasure, but shouts to us in our pain.”
Wholeness coaching exists to step into the gap, and assist leaders, pastors, churches, boards, and organizations not only pick up the pieces when these events occur…but redeem them by the power of God’s transformative grace.
